Porsha Monique Allen (she/her) is a poet & short story writer from Richmond, Virginia. She received her MFA in Poetry from Queens University of Charlotte in 2021. In 2020, Porsha was selected as a semi-finalist for Naugatuck River Review’s 12th Annual Narrative Poetry Contest. She was also named a finalist for the 2024 Plentitudes Prize in Poetry. Porsha has participated in panel discussions & shared her work with institutions such as Norfolk State & Virginia Union University. Her work explores & examines the complexities of family, race, religion, identity, loss, memory, & love. Porsha’s poetry & prose have appeared in Scalawag Magazine, Rattle, Belle Ombre, Blood Orange Review, Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora, Kweli Journal, Salamander Magazine, & elsewhere.
