Porsha Monique Allen (she/her) is a writer from Richmond, Virginia. She received her MFA in Poetry from Queens University of Charlotte in 2021. In 2020, she was a semi-finalist for the Naugatuck River Review’s 12th Annual Narrative Poetry Contest and a finalist for the 2024 Plentitudes Prize in Poetry. Porsha has shared her work and participated in panel discussions at institutions such as Norfolk State University and Virginia Union University. Her writing explores the complexities of family, race, religion, identity, loss, memory, and love. Her work has appeared in Scalawag Magazine, Rattle, Blood Orange Review, Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora, Kweli Journal, Salamander Magazine, and elsewhere.
